We Now Know Why This 2,500 Year Old Princess Died – Perhaps It’s Why She Was Buried With Cannabis

The mummified remains of a 2,500-year-old Siberian princess were extracted from the Altai Mountains in Russia in 1993.
The finding of the so-called Princess Ukok in a permafrost subterranean tomb in the Altai Mountains, somewhere near the borders of Kazakhstan, China, and Mongolia, is considered one of the most important Russian archaeological discoveries of the late 20th century. It was believed to be part of the Pazyryk nomadic tribe mentioned in 5th century BC by Greek historian Herodotus.
New MRI (magnetic resonance image) scans have revealed that the ancient Pazyryk princess died after suffering from acute breast cancer. Scientists believe the 25 year old woman could have used cannabis to ease the pain.
The body of the Siberian mummy was covered with tattoos that were observable on her well-preserved skin. The princess was found in her tomb, buried with meat, ornate clothing, jewellery, a headdresses and other accessories.
She was surrounded by two male warriors to protect her, and six horses to ease what is believed to be their journey into the next life.
The scientists said that she was a woman of importance during her life; they have a good idea of who the Pazyryk princess was, and how she and her people lived.
According to The Siberian Times, she was too young since she died at the age of 25, but the discovery of the reason behind her death is what made headlines:
Dr. Andrey Letyagin of the Institute of Physiology and Fundamental Medicine was the one who conducted MRI scans on the princess; he explained that the princess had a host of maladies throughout her life. He talked about the infection of the bone marrow – osteomyelitis – which was what the princess suffered from, he said:
During the imaging of mammary glands, we paid attention to their asymmetric structure and the varying asymmetry of the MRI signal. We are dealing with a primary tumor in the right breast and right axial lymph nodes with metastases.”
Dr. Andrey Letyagin worked with Dr. Andrey Savelov of the International Tomography Center; they published their unexpected discovery in the Science First Hand journal.
The doctors said that increased bone density is a sign of osteomyelitis. There were other signs of damage, believed to be a result of falling from a height, perhaps from a horse. In addition, what surprised scientists was the cancer in her breast which had spread throughout most of her body.
Dr. Letyagin told the journal that she developed breast cancer when she was a little over 20 years old:
“I am quite sure of the diagnosis – she had cancer. She was extremely emaciated. Given her rather high rank in society and the information scientists obtained studying mummies of elite Pazyryks, I do not have any other explanation of her state. Only cancer could have such an impact.”
The most important part was that the Siberian princess was found buried with cannabis. Researchers said that she used it in order to calm the immeasurable pain.

Natalia Polosmak, the scientist who first found the remarkable human remains in the burial tomb said:
“In ancient cultures, from which there is a written testimony, such analgesics were used, Wine, hashish, opium, henbane, an extract of mandrake, aconite and Indian hemp. The Pazyryks knew hemp and its features.”
Polosmak led the team of researchers that found the mummy in 1993. She insists that scientists should pay “special attention” to the princess’s use of analgesics. She said:
“Probably for this sick woman, sniffing cannabis was a forced necessity.”
Although the ancient Pazyryk princess lived more than 2,500 years ago, the people in Altai still believe in her “supernatural powers”.
In spite of the fact that we still don’t know if her use of cannabis preceded her breast cancer, we should pay more attention to the possibility of using cannabis as a cure for cancer.

Salt-Water Powered Car Gets Approval In Europe – Yes It’s Real

It works just like a hydrogen fuel cell except that the liquid used for storing energy is saltwater. This isn’t far from the water powered car, an idea labelled as a conspiracy by many despite the massive amount of evidence behind it. You can read more about that here.
In this case (saltwater) the liquid passes through a membrane in between the two tanks, creating an electric charge. This electricity is then stored and distributed by super capacitors. The car carries the water in two 200-litre tanks, which in one sitting will allow drivers to travel up to 373 miles (600km). Overall, the four-seater is 5.25 metres (0.4ft) long, 2.2 metres wide (7.2ft), the 1.35 metre (4.4ft).
“After making its debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show (pictured) in March, the saltwater technology has now been certified for use on European roads.” (source)
Nanoflowcell AG is the company behind the design, and they are currently preparing the technology for mass production.
‘We’ve got major plans, and not just within the automobile industry. The potential of the NanoFlowcell is much greater, especially in terms of domestic energy supplies as well as in maritime, rail and aviation technology”  - NanoFlowcell AG Chairman of the Board Professor Jens-Peter Ellermann.
This is huge news, and is another example out of so many that clearly show how we have so many ways to do better here. Although money remains an issue, it doesn’t have to be.
All cars should be required to be made from this type, or other similar types of clean green energy. A few years ago, if you told somebody it’s possible to fuel a car by pouring saltwater into it, they would have called you a conspiracy theorist.

Aryan, Suhana don’t keep a tab on my career: Shah Rukh Khan

Having a globally recognised and super successful father may sometimes be difficult for the kids to deal with. But looks like Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s kids are all okay with their dad’s ‘King Khan’ status. In fact the superstar says that his stardom has never had a negative impact on his children.
The ‘Happy New Year’ actor has three children Aryan, Suhana and the li’l one AbRam. In a recent interview the actor shared that initially his kids—son Aryan and daughter Suhana–were conscious of having a star father, thanks to their upbringing they aren’t bothered about his fame so much now!
“We have never subjected our kids to the stardom. When they were born I was already a movie star. What has been clearly told or understood by them is that I work very hard. Initially, yes when I used to go to school they felt awkward because everybody was referred to as Ramesh’s father or Geeta’s father – but I was called Shah Rukh Khan. My daughter used to be a little taken aback. But no they are not embarrassed of me,” said SRK.
What’s more, the actor further said that he doesn’t force his kids to watch his films. In fact they don’t even have an idea about how much money his movies make after its release! Talking about it, he said, “My son Aryan never comes for my shows or shootings. My children have been brought up in such a way that whatever I do outside of our house is not something they have to necessarily keep a tab on… They don’t know the collection. Maybe after a few days my daughter will ask me if the film did well. It is not necessary for them to watch the film just because I star in it. My daughter watched my last film CHENNAI EXPRESS a week and a half after its release and that too because her friends wanted to watch it at home. My son hasn’t seen it yet.”
What’s more, it’s noted that the actor was in London recently for a promotional event of his upcoming mutli-starrer film HAPPY NEW YEAR. Interestingly, SRK’s son Aryan, 16, also studies in London. The actor revealed that Aryan’s teachers had come to see his concert. “When I was doing a show in London, all of Aryan’s teachers came to see me. I had invited them and Aryan as well,” Shah Rukh said.
HAPPY NEW YEAR is directed by Farah Khan and features Deepika Padukone, Boman Irani, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, and Vivan Shah. The much-awaited film of the year is set to hit the theatres on October 24.

Not prepared to face insecurity from masses: Bachchan

Mumbai: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has faced many ups and downs in his glorious career but says he still finds himself unprepared to face the insecurity from the fans.
The 72-year-old actor said viewers have the power to elevate stars to the highest peak of stardom and bring them down in an instant.
“Insecurity from the masses is the greatest challenge one has to face… Those that can, and many do, are blessed. I am not, for me the call from the audience is the moment of reckoning, they can deflate you and pick one up, they can elevate you to unknown heights and bring you down with a thump.
“I have seen it all. The elevation and the deflation, the plateau effect and the effect of stagnation, of the smile among audiences, of the recognition, of shame and victory from it, and the triumph of those that decided to make what you become,” Bachchan said in his blog while describing the importance of audience in an actor’s life.
The ‘Bhootnath Returns’ star added that making peace with the highs and lows of stardom is difficult and those who can achieve that are his heroes.
“It is a stage that often invites the lessening of the interest.. A cause that shall happen to us all in the business. Those that can bear it and live with it in peace and understanding are my heroes,” he said.

Deepika Padukone was always a star: SRK

Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan, the producer and hero of Deepika Padukone’s debut film “Om Shanti Om”, says she has paved the way for her own success and that she always had it in her to be a “star”.
SRK and Deepika worked under Farah Khan’s direction for “Om Shanti Om”, and the team has joined hands again for the forthcoming “Happy New Year”. In the gap of seven years, Deepika has established herself as one of the reigning beauties in Bollywood — and Shah Rukh feels the success is “all hers”.
“I have nothing to do with her (Deepika’s) success. It’s all hers. You can’t take credit away from someone,” Shah Rukh told reporters in a group interview.
Citing his own example, he said that when he worked on his debut film “Deewana”, veteran actors like Rishi Kapoor and Amrish Puri were very nice and kind to him.
“I must have made mistakes, I must have been good and bad,” Shah Rukh said as he mulled over his own journey.
But then talking of Deepika, he said: “I think Deepika was always a star. Since she was new, we did the ‘Aankhon mein teri’ song and we showed it to Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan). He said, ‘She is a very huge star’. She was a supermodel at that time, so it’s not something we (Farah and I) have done.
“I haven’t worked with her for seven years, but I think she has it all. As a friend, I told her that ‘Always do a film where you feel comfortable with the people around’. She has made wonderful choices — whether it’s ‘Cocktail’ or ‘Finding Fanny’.
“She has chosen some highly commercial films too; she has made the right choices,” he said.

DDLJ begins its 20th year of run at Maratha Mandir

Mumbai: Bollywood film “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”, considered an ode to love by many, has started its 20th year of uninterrupted run at the iconic Maratha Mandir cinema hall here.
The film changed the course of the nation’s cinema and became an unparalleled brand by catapulting itself into being the longest running film in the history of Indian cinema, read a statement from production banner Yash Raj Films.
Since its release Oct 20, 1995, the classic love story has won over the hearts of generations for the past 19 years and is still watched by the youth even today, often playing to packed houses during its daily 11:30 a.m. show.
Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, the movie made people fall in love with the characters Raj and Simran. Directed by Aditya Chopra, the film narrates the love story of a fun-loving London-bred Punjabi boy with a girl brought up in a conservative family. How he wins over girl’s side, forms the rest of the story.
The Yash Raj Films’ project will complete 1000 historical weeks at the box office Dec 12.

Rekha’s TV presence has left tremendous impact: Indra Kumar

Mumbai:  Veteran actress Rekha, who has kept her distance from the small screen, has duly followed the current tradition of appearing on popular TV reality shows to promote her forthcoming release “Super Nani”. Director Indra Kumar can’t thank her enough.
Kumar, whose films range from the emotional “Beta” to the raunchy “Grand Masti”, feels deeply emotional towards Rekha.
“What she has done for our film, she has never done before in her career. She went on reality shows like ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ and ‘Bigg Boss’ for our film. The impact has been tremendous. Suddenly, new generations have woken up to the phenomenon called Rekha,” he said.
Rekha’s last television appearance is said to have been on “Rendezvous With Simi Garewal” — after which she had pledged not to be seen on television unless she did her own show.
“And what a grand welcome she has got on television,” said Kumar.
The director, who has worked with Rekha for the first time, says “Super Nani” is a tremendous challenge for her.
“This is a film adaptation of the legendary Gujarati play ‘Baa Mari Boundary’. The legendary Padma Rani played the lead in the play. That’s a tough act to follow. Only an actress of Rekha’s calibre could have pulled it off,” he said, and added that all audience members will identify with her character and story.
Curiously, the director comes to this wholesome family saga after the sex comedy “Grand Masti”.
“That was another world, another tale, another Friday. We were very clear about making a sex comedy, so clear that we stepped forward to ask for an ‘Adults’ certificate from the censor board. They were aghast because no producer had ever voluntarily asked for an ‘A’.”
Now Kumar says he isn’t looking at directing another sex comedy for a long time.
“There was a gap of nine years between ‘Masti’ and ‘Grand Masti’. We need a decent enough gap between ‘Grand Masti’ and the next film in the series,” he added.

Sonakshi is a team player, says Arjun

Looks like actor Arjun Kapoor is all praise for his TEVAR co-star Sonakshi Sinha whom he calls a complete team player. What’s more, the actor further says that during the shoot of the physically gruelling movie, not once did Sonakshi complain.
“Since it was an action film and involved loads of chasing sequence, she had to be out all the time with me. It was a difficult film to shoot but she never complained about it once. These team efforts add value to a film and she is a team player… She is a thorough professional. She is very intelligent and sorted in her craft. She knows exactly how to go about her work. She was a pleasure to work with,” Arjun Kapoor, 29, said in an interview.
TEVAR is a remake of 2003 Telugu blockbuster OKKADU. It’s known that the Amit Sharma- directed film has not gone through any major script changes from the original film, except for the setting. Talking about it, Arjun said, “We just gave the film a different setting of Mathura and Agra. We made minor changed to it to take our story forward in that world. We have added and subtracted on the basis of length. We held the structure of the original.”
What’s more, TEVAR is being produced by Arjun’s producer father Boney Kapoor and uncle Sanjay Kapoor. It’s noted that this is the first time that Arjun would be seen working with his father. The producer hit the headlines a few months back when Boney’s car met with an accident while on a shoot for TEVAR, but luckily he escaped unhurt.  When asked about his experience of working with his dad, Arjun replied saying, “It was good to work with dad as we got to spend a lot of time together. His accident during the shooting shook me emotionally. He was on his way back from the shooting location to home. The incident took place after pack-up on that particular night. The moment I spoke and found out he was fine, I was put at ease. He was fine and that was the most important thing.”
The film was also made in Tamil before being adapted in Hindi. Revealing that he’s seen both the versions of the film so as to understand the movie better, Arjun said, “I have watched both the versions of the film and the inherent energy in the original film excited me to do it. The film is on-the-run story of an ordinary boy who gets into an extra-ordinary situation. It is something which I always wanted to do. It’s not a larger-than-life-character but his deeds are.”
On being asked about to share the details of his character in TEVAR, Arjun said that he would be seen sporting a rugged look in the film again, just like his debut film ISHAQZAADE. “I play a character of an Agra-based guy Pintoo Shukla, who is very fond of Kabaddi. He is a Kabaddi champion. He is very passionate about the game and it is the only excitement in his life. He is very sweet and lovable rogue in the film. He is a college goer but he is not interested in studying,” Arjun shared.
TEVAR features Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha as the lead pair and will hit theatres on January 9 next year.

Mystery of the real life Gone Girl

The mystery thriller about a loving wife who suddenly disappears leaving her husband to face awkward questions is a box office sensation.
Yet for one devoted husband in America the film is all too real.
Two months ago Kerry Messer woke up in the early hours of the morning to find his wife of 27 years missing.
He searched their home and the 250 acres of farmland where they have lived happily for the past two decades.
No note was left, there was no sign of foul play and nothing to suggest Lynn Kesser had wanted to walk out of her marriage.
Before kissing her husband goodnight, she had talked about her plans for a holiday and attending Bible class.
When 52-year-old Messler woke he found his wife missing.
Her mobile phone, driving licence and other personal items were still in her bedroom. She even left behind a pair of walking boots she had been wearing while recovering from a broken toe.
For the past two months there has been no sign of Mrs Messer despite an intensive search by police and members of the community where the couple lived in Bloomington, Missouri.
Hunters in the rural area are being asked to keep a look out for the mother-of-one amid fears she could be in the woodland area near where she lived. One theory is that she wandered off after some sort of mental breakdown, but her disappearance is now being seen as a real life “Gone Girl” and has left America baffled.
While more than 2,000 people are reported missing each day in the US, the Kessler case has left police and experienced search teams seeking answers.
“There was no reason for Mrs Messer to leave her home,” said a spokesman for St Genevieve County Sheriff’s Office.
“As far as our inquiries she had a very settled home life and enjoyed being with her family.”
The search for Mrs Messer began immediately her husband, a political lobbyist, raised the alarm.
In the weeks before she disappeared Mrs Messer had not made any complaints about her life, apart from having to wear an orthopaedic shoe to help her broken toe mend.
Like the Rosamund Pike character Amy in the film Gone Girl she was seemingly happy with no complaints about her marriage.
Another similarity with the film is that Mr Messer fears his wife is being held against her will.
In an appeal broadcast in Missouri he said: “Lynn, if you can hear this of course our greatest fear is that you are in a position where you cannot contact us. That she is being prevented from it.
“We won’t quit searching.”
Mr Messler has been interviewed by police and is not considered a suspect.
But that hasn’t stopped local bloggers from pointing the finger of blame at him.
“The husband woke to find her gone is the lame alibi of too many murdering husbands. Sorry to be so suspicious; I’ve been around a long time,” wrote one blogger.
Another wrote: “I’m sure the police have their eye on him. For now people in Missouri keep your eyes peeled and check your property. Just hope she’s found alive.

I've been firing people since I was 13, says wannabe Apprentice Ella Bitton

The 23-year-old interior designer has so far beaten off 30,000 applicants to make the final 20 in the latest series of the BBC One show, which starts on Tuesday at 9pm.
Her father, Paul Bitton, groomed her for success from a young age. He has built up a successful bathroom company since moving to the UK from France 40 years ago. “From a young age my father involved me in hiring and firing people from the business,” she said.
“When I was 13, I spent a week’s work experience at the family business helping to assess which employees to keep or fire when we were moving to a new showroom and had to restructure the team.”
She believes this hands-on approach gave her an edge going into The Apprentice, saying: “My dad has been my inspiration and the business has always been my home. I would go straight from school to the office on a daily basis. It became second nature to be there.”
Her hard work has paid off. “When I was 16 I went to Harrods and talked to Mohamed Al Fayed about our business taking on a new bathroom concession in the store.”
After a phone call to her father to check her credentials, Ella Jade Interiors was granted a 300 square metre concession on the second floor of the iconic department store. This was followed by the opening of showrooms in Portman Square and Hampstead, both in London.
She said: “I find successful businessmen fascinating, which helped when pitching my idea to Mr Al Fayed. I think this also helped when facing Lord Sugar in the boardroom. Everyone is supposed to be scared of him but I was not as he reminds me of my dad.”
Ella Jade went on the TV show after organising a student version of The Apprentice last year while in her final year of a business management course at King’s College London. She said: “A lot of people go on the show for 15 minutes of fame, which I’m not interested in.
I went on it to gain experience and build up my reputation as a businesswoman, to be respected and renowned.” Among the other candidates in the show is ex-PA and hypnotherapist Sarah Dales who incurred the wrath of judge Baroness Brady, one of Lord Sugar’s aides, for suggesting her female team-mates should wear “short skirts and loads of make-up” to win a challenge.
Baroness Brady said: “These are antiquated views for a bygone age that thankfully is no longer around any more.”

Winter 2014 set to be 'coldest for century' Britain faces ARCTIC FREEZE in just weeks

Heavy and persistent snow, freezing gales and sub-zero temperatures threaten to grind the country to a standstill for up to FIVE MONTHS, horrified long-range weather forecasters have warned.
The impending bout of extreme weather will come as a shock and forecasters have warned Britons should not to be lulled into a false sense of security by the recent mild conditions.
January is currently showing signs of temperatures hitting “record-breaking” lows meaning parts of the country could see the mercury plunge to -27C (-17F).
James Madden, forecaster for Exacta Weather said “significant snowfall” is likely in WEEKS with savage frosts and thick winter fogs threatening widespread misery.

He said: “Over the coming weeks and into November, it is likely to turn progressively colder, even very cold at times, in particular, in parts of the north as northern blocking becomes a somewhat more prominent feature.
“This is likely to bring some significant snow across higher ground within this period.
“This may also bring the first snow event of the season to some much lower levels of the country, in particular, in some parts to the north and east of the country, but these wintry weather events may also not necessarily be restricted to just these parts, and some much lower levels of the country could also experience their first taste of wintry weather for the season in terms of overnight snow or developing wintry showers.
Experts have warned that many may not be prepared for the a sudden onset of severe cold weather.
Malcolm Booth, chief executive of the National Federation of Occupational Pensioners, said: “The peculiar weather patterns that we are seeing may lull people into a flaw sense of security and they won’t protect themselves in terms of day to day life and flu jabs.
“The last set of winter death figures showed an increase which is concerning, if this year is particularly harsh they could be even worse, particularly with the increase in the cost of heating.”
Mr Madden said sudden changes in weather and pressure systems could drag swathes of freezing air from the Arctic across the UK with cold weather likely until next spring.
He said: “This allows cold easterly winds to develop and increases the risk of northern blocking across the UK.
“A number of potentially very cold periods of weather and major snow events are likely to develop throughout this winter across large parts of the country, in particular, throughout the latter part of December and into January.

The worst case and more plausible scenario could bring something on a similar par to the winter of 2009/10, the coldest in 31 years, or an event close to 2010/11 which experienced the coldest December in 100 years.
“If any month could prove to be very severe or potentially record-breaking in terms of the cold and snow episodes that are likely to develop, then January looks like being the main contributor for this on current indications.
“February and into spring may also not escape an extension of these waves of cold and widespread snow at times.
“However, there are some conflicting signals for December at present, which could introduce some milder and rather unsettled interludes of weather at times to begin with.”
Though forecasters say it is still to early to agree on a definitive outlook for the coming winter they agree Britain could be in for an especially chilly one.
