2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

South Korean manufacturer announced official presentation of its Genesis sedan on Jan. 6 in Las Vegas and then on Jan. 13 in Detroit. Last time they presented Genesis Coupe with three months delay at the New York Auto Show. We expect same thing again. New 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe will be based on HND-9 Concept which was presented at at the Seoul Motor Show in March this year. This means that new coupe will come with longer hood and distinctive butterfly doors. Drivetrain will probably stay the same but that is not confirmed.

NEW 2015 HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE WILL LOOK LIKE HND-9 CONCEPT

When we look at the HND-9 concept we can see that future is close. With new, more dramatic lines and up-swinging butterfly doors it is more than obvious that Hyundai’s designers took totally new approach. If 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe comes with this look and some serious engine, Corvette will get very decent competitor. HND-9 Concept came with 22-inches wheels, so we can expect to see that on the Genesis Coupe as one option. There are some information that new car will be slightly wider and lighter. These facts will positively influence on performance. There is no official information about interior look, but we have no doubt that it will completely blend with futuristic design. Hyundai has always managed to match sporty performance with luxury and comfort, and we don’t see why new Genesis Coupe should be exception.

2015 HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE ENGINE CHOICE

For now we can say with certainty that 3.3 liter turbocharged V6 engine will come as one of the options under the hood. This engine can deliver about 370 horsepower and it will be matched to eight-speed automatic transmission. Power will be transferred on rear wheels. For those who like huge engines and wish to feel real rush in their veins, Hyundai is preparing Genesis Coupe with 5.0-liter DOHC V8 engine. This engine is delivering 429 horsepower at 6400 rpm and 376 lb-ft at 5000 rpm. For now there is no information which transmission will come with this engine. Anyhow if new 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe really comes with this engine it will be able to compete even with undisputed Corvette.

2015 HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE PRICE AND RELEASE DATE

Hyundai didn’t announce yet how much money will cost new Genesis Coupe, but its price should be at least $10,000 lower than price of the competitors. As we said release date will probably be scheduled for some big auto show next year, we guess that will be New York.

New two-car TVR Range to Launch in 2015

New TVR chairman Les Edgar has revealed plans to relaunch the TVR brand in style with the release of a new two-car line-up by 2015.

Edgar insists that these two new front-engined, rear-wheel drive British supercars will remain true to the TVRs of the past we’ve come to love. To begin with, TVR is set to focus on launching a new car with its own design followed soon thereafter by a second model set to cost between 50,000 and 80,000 pounds.

Remaining true to his statement that the new supercars created by the kickstarted TVR brand will maintain the character of TVRs from the past, Edgar revealed that the plan is to create two sports cars as simple, stripped-down and as free of electronic gizmos as possible. Consequently, TVR will instead focus solely on performance, driving factors and the overall character of the car. What this means is that future TVRs will be capable of supercar performance but with a far lower price.

Les Edgar is a Surrey-based Aston Martin racer and computer games millionaire who as we all know, recently led an investor group to buy TVR and all of its assets.

“The project started with a few of us, all lovers of drivers’ cars, talking about building the modern expression of the traditional British sports car,” Edgar says. “Most of us have business backgrounds. We knew we really needed a decent brand to make the thing fly, but the brand we really wanted wasn’t available.

“TVR’s owner, Nikolai Smolenski, had been approached by many other bidders and always said he wouldn’t sell. Then one of us became aware of a new opportunity to talk to him and we started negotiating. I can’t say he was a pushover to deal with, but he’s become a good supporter of our project,” he said.
